Robert McInnes  believe our Spirit or Soul develops as we develop and evolve in our life’s journey. All the information, wisdom, interactions with people, life experiences we have from the day we are born until the day we die make up who we are . The Book TAMASHI shows a small glimpse of his life and some of the events and experiences that he feels helped develop his spirit as a person.

From all his experiences in life both good and bad Robert can honestly say “i have learnt something from them which intern has eventually evolved into my life today as I know it and the Spirit of Shorin Kempo the System I developed”.

Most people, when they first experience his style of Shorin Kempo, find it hard to compare it with other systems. Shorin Kempo is heavily based on his belief that martial arts benefits from constantly Evolving.

He contributes much of his success to  martial arts for teaching him to adapt and evolve so as to be successful in a world of turmoil.

Kancho Robert McInnes’s book gives a in-depth philosophy as to how his life today has been influenced on past experiences and how those experiences influenced and bought about the birth of Shorin Kempo as we know it today. Kancho Robert McInnes has spent most of his adulthood in Asia , its safe to say his mentality would be largely based on Asian philosophy which gives a totally different view to how most martial artists think out side of Asia .

The philosophy of Martial Arts in Asia either it be Thailand , Japan, Korea or China is very different to the philosophy of most western dojo’s . In his book Kancho McInnes try’s to show these differences and give a understanding as to the importance of some of these philosophy’s and methodologies.

The Book gives a short insight into the violence in the era that he grew up in which largely influenced the importance of reality in martial arts when it comes to teaching and passing on knowledge .

It is Kancho McInnes belief that the need to evolve is like the stem cells and blood in our body , We need to contently be evolving to build a defense for our body to ward off unwanted diseases, So too our martial arts needs to be looked at similar to this.

Like Our immune system our bodies develop immunity by coming into contact with most viruses , It is his belief this is the same principle for our Martial arts. From our past interactions and experiences regardless of good or bad , play a large part in the influence of us as a person and or martial arts. In his book Kancho McInnes has made reference to some of those experiences that have influenced his life and his style of Martial Arts being that of Shorin Kempo .
